Pre-Trial Intervention is a program for first-time criminal offenders, which allows the defendant to be diverted from conviction and enter a program of restitution, counseling and guidance.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants are able to have the charge removed from their criminal records. They do not have to go to court, face jail time or fines or face loss of a driver’s license if they complete the Pre-Trial Intervention program.

Only participants who do not present a threat to society and have no significant prior criminal history are allowed this second chance.

Participants will be in the program for a minimum of 90 days and a maximum of one year, during which time they will attend counseling - either individual or group or both, pay restitution and do community service work at non-profit agencies.

Participants must pay a $100 application fee before entering the program, and a $250 program fee before they are successfully complete from PTI.

Juvenile Diversion Services is a program for juvenile offenders in Greenville County. Through Juvenile Diversion Services, juveniles who are first-time offenders can receive counseling, perform community service work, pay restitution and complete whatever other requirements are set by their counselor. Juveniles pay a program fee of $200 to participate.
